Whilst  automatic, algorithmic audio mastering has come a long, long way, humans still engineer, master & mix all the successful audio you hear today.

Our mastering engineers use over 20 years of technical expertise and superbly honed ears to make the final adjustments to your music before it's released, heightening its impact and ensuring that it will translate well to the variety of playback systems in use today.

Mastering is an often misunderstood and crucial process in the life cycle of a recording or album, the final creative step before release when its overall dynamic and spectral balance is sculpted and polished. Broadly speaking, the mastering engineer’s task is to ensure that an album is sonically cohesive and impactful, and that it will play well in any format and through any medium: as a 140-gram vinyl, digital mp3, CD, or internet stream; and played through earbuds, laptop speakers, loudspeakers in a shopping mall, or movie theatre surround sound.

Global Overground is unique in that their engineers have DJ'd & toured the world with their own music for decades. This means all masters and mixes are honed by engineers with real-world experience of sound delivery and the business that is 'show'. It's highly unlikely you haven't heard the work of Norwich's Benedict Braund. He has enjoyed national chart successes including Braund Reynolds' Rocket, championed by Pete Tong, Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk) & Fatboy Slim. He scored Playstation’s first Central Station & produced TV, radio & movie sound design for Toyota, The BBC, Microsoft, Channel 4 & Adam McKay/Will Ferrell's 'Gary Sanchez Productions'. He's worked with leading music artists including the Stereo MCs and performed alongside the likes of Above & Beyond, KT Tunstall, Fabio & Grooverider, The Heavy, Tim Deluxe, The Sugarhill Gang, Dirty Sanchez, Utah Saints, The Pussycat Dolls, Tommy Lee (Mötley Crüe) and Adamski at The Saatchi gallery’s Sweet Harmony:Rave exhibition.

We also provide studio design consultation & other post/pre-production services including audio dubbing & front-of-house. Feel free to get in touch.
